Typical roles include: Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, Bid & Procurement Managers and Site Managers.

Conveniently situated in Manchester, Josh brings over three-years solid experience in M&E recruitment. And having worked on the consultancy side of Building Services, Design and also Facilities Management – he is able to offer a thorough understanding of the whole Design, Build, Operate & Manage (DBOM) process.

In his spare time, newly-married, Josh is Captain of a local football team and when he’s not on the pitch, you’ll find him and his acoustic guitar on stage in Manchester. A singer/song writer since he was 11-years-old, Josh is proud of his city’s underground music scene and often plays solo gigs when he’s not working.

Guyan & Associates are currently recruiting for a senior/principle mechanical design engineer, with a demonstrable background working across projects within the Building Services sector, for a Regional Contractors Liverpool head office. 

About This Role

 
 
The Role;
  • Working with the Design Director in leading and development of design team members, acting as mentor to assist in the process of developing Designers by 'on-the-job' coaching, to successfully achieve all agreed goals and objectives relating to the area of building services design
  • Manage / lead design work throughout design and build projects in collaboration with the project teams, undertaking design reviews and appraisals, providing technical advice / assistance to queries raised by the project teams, and assist with the re-engineering of pre-designed contracts
  • Be fully conversant with the company standards, associated guidance manuals and technical standards / regulations relevant to the design & technical engineering needs of the company
  • Carry out technical duties / design on design & build projects in collaboration with other Designers and the project teams, participating in design reviews and appraisals as necessary, and conduct design validation visits to installation sites to ensure that installation satisfies design intent
  • Provide design / technical assessment support of all tenders, paying particular attention to the technical risk assessment of both traditional and design & build projects, delivering high quality design solutions that address our contractual obligations
  • Undertake schematic and detailed design of installations / schemes within the remit of the jobholder's specialist skill area
  • Be conversant with the various building services design software packages used throughout the company, and when necessary, use them to good effect to carry out design related activities
  • Ensure that the company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are constantly adhered to, and be familiar with all current legislation regarding Building Regulations, legislative requirements, BS standards, CDM, Health, Safety & Environmental issues relating to design and technical activities
Qualifications:
 
HNC/Degree Qualified in relevant Mechanical/Building Services discipline
