Conveniently situated in Manchester, Josh brings over three-years solid experience in M&E recruitment. And having worked on the consultancy side of Building Services, Design and also Facilities Management – he is able to offer a thorough understanding of the whole Design, Build, Operate & Manage (DBOM) process.

In his spare time, newly-married, Josh is Captain of a local football team and when he’s not on the pitch, you’ll find him and his acoustic guitar on stage in Manchester. A singer/song writer since he was 11-years-old, Josh is proud of his city’s underground music scene and often plays solo gigs when he’s not working.

We are currently recruiting for an excellent opportunity as a construction planner, with a business who are keen to invest in and develop their staff. 

About This Role

 

The sole M&E Planning Engineer for this National Contractor's North West office you  will lead and coordinate the delivery of all M&E/Building Services integrated programme from design through to commissioning handover for a variety of projects. Dealing mainly with the project teams, understanding the project requirements and articulating that into a fully integrated and workable programme, guiding the project teams to success.

 

Education / Qualifications:

  • A degree in an Construction/M&E/Building Services discipline would be advantageous
  • Professional Membership of appropriate industry body.

Experience:

  • Considerable experience in a similar planning role

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with the integrated project team
  • Report to the Operation Manager and be responsible for the M&E/Building Services planning element of the team
  • Develop a fully integrated M&E programme that leads to a successful handover of the project
  • Development of the integrated M&E programme, informed by handover, commissioning, installation, procurement and design
  • Identify key M&E interfaces on interface schedules to assist the project team
  • Identify key M&E dependencies on dependency schedules to assist the project team
  • Identify key M&E milestones, and develop milestone delivery sheets
  • Ensure that the programme is fully integrated with the main construction programme
  • Asta Power Projects and/or P6 (Primervera) software
  • Produce monthly progress reports
  • Carry out regular baseline programme reviews
  • Carry out regular critical path analysis reviews
  • Monitor cause and effect relationships throughout the programme
  • Integrate M&E suppliers programmes and monitor progress monthly
  • Manage M&E planning team, including performance management via one to ones process, and professional development via appraisal process
