Conveniently situated in Manchester, Josh brings over three-years solid experience in M&E recruitment. And having worked on the consultancy side of Building Services, Design and also Facilities Management – he is able to offer a thorough understanding of the whole Design, Build, Operate & Manage (DBOM) process.

In his spare time, newly-married, Josh is Captain of a local football team and when he’s not on the pitch, you’ll find him and his acoustic guitar on stage in Manchester. A singer/song writer since he was 11-years-old, Josh is proud of his city’s underground music scene and often plays solo gigs when he’s not working.

About This Role

 

The Role:

As the Design Manager your duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Leading a team of Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers from conceptual design to project completion and handover

  • Liaising with the client, main contractor, architects and consultants on all technical design issues

  • Ensuring the general health, welfare and happiness of all team members

  • Accepting / agreeing enquiries with clients

  • Organising work distribution within the design team

  • Overseeing internal tender meeting to agree OH&P and strategies

  • Ensuring all drawings are issued timely and to a high standard

  • Overseeing the handover of projects from the design department to the contracts department

  • Overseeing and co-ordinating the preparation of the O&M manuals and “as-fitted” drawings

Qualifications;

 

 BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management / Building Services.

 HNC / HND / Degree in an engineering discipline or Construction Management or Architecture. 

 Understands the professional development process and set challenging goals to meet them through continuous learning.

 Maintain professional Membership/Chartered status of relevant body.

 Minimum five years’ experience undertaking similar role.
