  • Previous experience of working on Shell & Core and Fit-out projects value of £10m desirable

About This Role

 

Job title: Mechanical Engineer 
 
Duties & Responsibilities: As the Mechanical Engineer your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage DT performance: monitor, give feedback and confront issues when required.
  • Manage Shell & Core and Fit-out Mechanical Engineers; monitor, give feedback, and confront issues where necessary.
  • Develop mechanical technical solutions within the given time frame & budget
  • Design checking and review
  • Provide technical advice on variations and value engineering
  • Ensure timely approval and procurement of equipment
  • Produce procurement bid tabs
  • Provide Technical Submission review and generation
  • Review of the Lead mechanical drawings and sign-off, including management of CAD staff
  • Management of design team comments and challenge unjustified status B's and C's
  • Submission of RFI's
  • Produce equipment schedules (valves, FCU’s, MVHR’s, Grilles / plenums, sanitary ware etc)
  • Liaison with Sub-Contractors Installation – Mechanical, Ductwork, Insulation, BMS, OFA etc.
  • Overall package interface schedule generation
  • Resolve buildability issues from design to construction
  • Attend Meetings with sub-contractors and client
  • Assistance and sign-off of void closures and inspections along with the QA Manager
  • Identify M&E Snags and outstanding works lists and ensure that snags are signed-off
  • Complete weekly progress schedules

Qualifications & Skills required:

  • Qualified with ONC/HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management or Building Services is ideal
  • Working knowledge of M&E Building services projects with an M&E Contractor valued between £5-£10m
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK with a valid driver’s licence.
