Senior Mechanical Engineer (M&E Building Services)

Job Description

 

 OVERVIEW: 

  • Lead Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee the Mechanical Engineering of New Build M&E Installation Projects (Schools, Waste to Energy or Hospital)
  • Working for a National M&E, Building Services Contractor with a full order book of projects valued between £5-10 Million.
  • Previous experience working for a national building services contractor with similar scope project experience advantageous.
  • Excellent permanent employment package. 
  • As the successful Mechanical Engineer your duties will include but will not be limited to:

 

Responsible for mechanical services related works reporting to M&E Project Manager

Acting as Mechanical Project Manager in the absence of'

Accountable for planning, co-ordinating and programming of the Mechanical Building Services.

Monitoring and motivating M&E project teams and on-site M&E personnel

Production of sales and cost forecasts, and monitoring against targets

Tendering, assessment, negotiation and selection of suppliers and sub-contractors including management of and progress whilst executing works on-site

Involvement in pre-tender, planning, co-ordination and progress meetings

Production, monitoring and updating programmes, including monitoring of main contractors progress and assessing potential ‘knock-on’ effects within the services programme

Co-ordination of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing services from drawing stage through to installation

Experience, knowledge and use of CAD for development of Mechanical drawing production

Production of labour targets and materials take-off.
