  •  Associate M&E Design Manager Market leader for Design & Installation of CHP, District Heating and Low Carbon Energy Systems Year on year growth of more than 21% Reporting to Design Director & Regional Director Opportunity to build Southern in house M&E Design team High end salary & package with long term benefits ROLE:   To provide leadership across the design teams in the management and delivery of their design work across all their projects. Ensure delivery of the designs meets the requirements of the client, programme and the business needs.   Must have operated in a relatively responsible position for the last 3-5 years Experience (minimum 12 years) of working both in a design consultancy and a design & build company Experience of design management including multi-disciplinary design with both internal and external organisations. Design functions to include mechanical, electrical, controls, architectural, civil / structural and specialist design work such as acoustics, air dispersion and environmental aspect of their related project work Past experience of working on a range of £2M - £20M projects, specifically the design of projects with renewable energy solutions Very familiar with RIBA Plan of Work and relevant design stages Excellent  understanding of Boiler / CHP / Plant rooms, Energy Centres and systems design, with a good understanding of heating / cooling distribution design principles Good knowledge of CHP, Biomass, geothermal, emerging LCZ and other renewable technologies Familiarity of steam system design principles Experience in leading and mentoring design risk reviews Quality Assurance compliance experience Aptitude to investigate and develop emerging low carbon technologies and apply these to their proposals and detailed design work Good knowledge of forms of contract used within this industry  The Company   The company is a leader in its market, providing low carbon community energy systems.   • ROLE: Regional Design Manager (M&E, Building Services). OVERVIEW: An Elite Building Services Contractor for the construction industry our client as a reputation and an award winning profession business leading the industry from the front. Due to an internal promotion a unique opportunity has arisen to head up the design department and all 24 members within it. As the Regional Design Manager your duties will include but will not be limited to: - Manage the team of 24 of mechanical, electrical and CAD designers. - Have accountability for ensuring new Mechanical and Electrical building services designs function correctly. - Excellent working knowledge of BIM. - Excellent Commercial acumen. - Review specifications of all tenders and estimation orders received into the business. - Assign CAD design resources and ensure work is completed on time with all requirements met. - Liaise closely with the Pre-Construction and Project Management teams during tender and specification stages. - Be customer facing when necessary. - Review customer specification documents and identify deviations in specification. - Work closely with all departments through the design and manufacture stages (Commercial, Production, Purchasing, Quality, etc). - Provide technical assistance when necessary. - Have thorough understanding of Building Services and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering related compliance standards. - Identify and document customer requirements, carrying out site surveys as necessary. - Identify additional documentation required (user manual, technical documentation) for new designs. - Qualified to HND or degree level in Building Services. - Chartered or working towards and an associate of CIBSE.

  • Regional Engineering Technical Manager (Mechanical) You will support the business technically by highlighting opportunity and minimising risk by providing Mechanical Technical policy, review, education and support at a level which takes account of unit capabilities. Assisting the Engineering Services Director in providing Mechanical Technical and design support to the company's West Midlands business units in appropriate Building Services discipline(s) and specialisation(s). Duties & Responsibilities: • Provide design & technical support to the business units  • Be fully conversant with functional and company method statements, associated guidance manuals and technical standards  • Technically (Mechanicall) support the management of all design work undertaken throughout the company (both in-house & subcontracted) • Provide process & technical, assistance, education & advice to company personnel  • Assist the Engineering Services Director, when required • Display a flexible approach to visiting locations and sites throughout the UK  • Provide technical advice / assistance to queries raised by business units and sister companies where appropriate • Assist the business to expand and develop its technical capabilities by providing support to work winning colleagues • Represent the company on industry bodies / forums when required Qualifications / Education and / or Experience: • Preferably educated to bachelor’s degree level or above • Previous management / people development experience would be useful, as would working within a M&E/Building Services environment • Must have superior knowledge of technical skills requirements, and possess excellent communication skills together with a common sense and flexible approach Essential work based aspects: • Up-to date and relevant technical knowledge • Auditing systems and assessment processes • Design knowledge • Company systems / standards awareness • Technical legislation / regulations / health & safety knowledge • Design software knowledge and successful embedding of BIM, cost planning at tender launch.      

  • Senior M&E Design Manager You will support the business technically by highlighting opportunity and minimising risk by providing M&E/Building Services Technical policy, review, education and support at a level which takes account of unit capabilities. Assisting the Design Leader in providing M&E Technical and design support to the company's London & South East business units in appropriate Building Services discipline(s) and specialisation(s). Duties & Responsibilities: • Provide M&E Design & Technical support to the business units to successfully achieve company, team and individual         goals and objectives relating to the delivery of design & technical practices and processes, liaising with the Design Leader   to achieve overall company objectives • Be fully conversant with functional and company method statements, associated guidance manuals and technical standards / regulations relevant to the design, health safety & environmental and technical engineering needs of the company and assist in development of same • Technically support the management of all M&E Design work undertaken throughout the company (both in-house &              subcontracted), in collaboration with the project delivery teams, ensuring Professional Services Consultant appointments    are defined and agreed, with regard to capability, capacity, scope, price & programme. • Assist in the effective implementation of technical risk management by ensuring that project engineering proposals for         designs, installations, equipment & plant, meet the criteria of allowable; installable; maintainable & affordable and ensure     that M&E technical reviews are conducted where identified as necessary • Provide process & technical, assistance, education & advice to company personnel as required to assist in the                     achievement of company engineering excellence • Assist the M&E Design Leader to develop competency criteria for key technical roles within the business, together with       best practice processes for design management & technical engineering activities • Assist the Design Leader to maintain appropriate standards of technical staff within business units by assisting in effective   recruitment processes • Display a flexible approach to visiting locations and sites throughout the UK in order to assist project teams with M&E           technical and design related issues and to promote company standardisation of approach to design and technical matters • Deliver appropriate training courses as required.
