Emma joined the company in 2014 as Resourcing Partner in M&E Building Services, covering Manchester, Leeds and the Humber. During this time, she identified an opportunity to specialise in recruiting for Document Control and Administrative roles within the construction industry, with the remit of covering the UK. 

Prior to this, Emma worked for 12 years in IDB operations, where she was involved in the bond and derivatives market, acting as an intermediary between major financial institutions to facilitate inter-dealer trading in the City of London.

When she’s not spending time with her two daughters, Emma loves to be working out at the gym and partaking in an array of sports, including mountain climbing, boot camps, running, swimming and skiing.

Job Description


The Role : Land Secretary

The Client : An exciting opportunity for a Land Secretary to join one of the highly reputable property developers in the UK.  The company has shown enormous growth from a small family run business to a highly successful Building developer which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. 

Duties and Responsibilities : 

  • Responsible for providing full secretarial and administration support to the Land Team and the Finance Director.
  • Highly proficient at Microsoft Office. Able to undertake a wide range of documentation including internal and external correspondence, reports, and memorandums. All private and classified matters to be dealt with discretion, punctuality and confidentiality.
  • Arrange the departments schedule by maintaining calendars for department personnel; arrange meetings and travel, conferences, corporate hospitality, teleconferences, collate holiday and absence filing.
  • Set up and manage filing systems and ensure that ongoing projects are recorded accurately. Maintain brought forward system and ensure that all work is completed and managed on schedule. Archive data as and when required.
  • Assist with the compiling of the land board report section, collate data in order to produce information required from the Head of Land for the PA.
  • Reconcile invoices received from Land Agents and maintain the Fee Files. Up-date and log land bids weekly collating data from the Land Team.
  • Collate and issue Land Acquisition Packs.
  • Attend and minute meetings as and when required by the Land Director, including updates of land meeting minutes as required.
  • Responsible for company vehicles, this involves working alongside the Finance department and organising MOTs, log servicing, tyre replacement, and the filing of insurances and tax.
  • Reception duty as and when required. (Very infrequent).
  • Order, control and maintain the office and all site stationary.
  • Deal with plot insurance, ground rent queries and the administration of.
  • Responsible for reporting any insurance matters affecting the business and liaise with Group colleagues and Group Insurance Brokers.
  • Administer the IT procurement and manage this across the business, including our sites.
  • Liaise with other departmental secretaries to collate weekly and monthly documentation required for local and Group processing.
  • Be generally willing to support the PA with all aspects of meeting management, any other requirements and to cover the PA’s duties when she is absent.

Qualifications and training

  • GCSE grade A-C English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • 3 years minimum administration background essential.
