Job description

 

Due to recent contract secured and increased future work, our client is looking for Mechanical Project Manager for varying sized Mechanical only projects.  We are looking for applicants from within the Building Services sector, namely, Electrical, Mechanical and Commercial backgrounds.

Overview:
  • The Mechanical Project Manager will manage all technical and commercial aspects of the mechanical and electrical installation on all projects.
  • Ensure that operations on site are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Ensure that the company’s business processes are followed in carrying out the construction project.
  • Maintain good client relationships on the project.
Responsibilities:
Review of the project, in conjunction with the project team, to fully determine and understand the conditions, requirements, deliverables, risks and liabilities of the works as defined and awarded by the Client.
  • Assessment and organisation of the resources necessary to execute the project in a safe, efficient and profitable manner, both in the regional offices and the site location.
  • Communication to subordinates of all necessary information including contract conditions, specifications, drawings, work instructions and all within our clients policies and procedures for the execution of the project.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient execution of installation, testing and commissioning works in accordance with the agreed installation methodology to the client's quality and programme requirements and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Maximum utilisation of materials, plant and labour is to be achieved.
  • Supervision and motivation of subordinates, including training and development, in the execution of the project and maintaining good industrial relations throughout.
  • Establish a productive and harmonious working relationship with the Client, achieve a clear definition of all of our client's responsibilities concerning design and co-ordination activities and develop contract opportunities.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of procurement, material control and costing policies and procedures, aid and assist in producing accurate and current procurement schedules and cost reports for senior management.
  • Ensure the accurate and efficient provision of progress and productivity reports weekly and monthly to senior management. Access and handover records are to be maintained.
  • Ensure the accurate and efficient provision of Contract Valuation Performance reports monthly to senior management in accordance with company procedures.
 
Education:
 
Ideally degree in appropriate discipline (a minimum of a HNC is expected), or suitable experience as Project. Corporate membership of a professional body is desirable, together with evidence or recent management/leadership development.
 
Experience: 
  • Client focused, strong leading Project Manager, capable of managing the Mechanical elements of the project and needs to be capable of managing a team and subcontractors.
  • Significant management experience within the construction or relevant support services industries. A strong understanding of technical issues and trends in the construction sectors. including specialist markets, with an ability to differentiate against market propositions is essential.
  • Proven track record of depth of experience in given field of expertise.
